Theme: Urbanization as architectural challenge

In collaboration with the Royal Institute of Dutch Architects (BNA) a special session of the IFoU conference ‘The New Urban Question – Urbanism beyond Neo-Liberalism’ will be dedicated to the presentation of architectural design concepts and projects that contribute to a sustainable form of urbanization.
Young architects and architectural offices are invited to present their ideas about suitable urban architecture in the city of the future. Special attention will be given to projects that reflect the big issues of contemporary urbanization and urban transformation: urban ecology, social integration in the city, new types of urban housing, functional mix and high density.
The presentation (powerpoint) will take place on November 27 and 28, 2009 at the Delft University of Technology. Each presentation is limited to 20 minutes.
